Here’s the end of the concert, with Skrillex disappearing into a cloud of steam like some magician.
Overall I had a way better time last night than in Chicago, but here’s a breakdown:
Pros
- Lax security (only people with bags were checked)
- Free water
- Less underage girls dressed like skanks
- Ellie Goulding secretly in attendance (my friend saw her, but unfortunately I didn’t)
- He played for almost 2 hours, instead of just one hour like in Chicago
- Better setlist, including:
- All but one of his songs from Bangarang (Summit was the best)
- Remix of Bassnectar’s “The Matrix” (first time they’ve remixed each other?)
- “Levels” remix, of course
- “Promises” wasn’t awkwardly mixed with “My Name Is Skrillex” like last time
Cons
- Didn’t have the Skrillex Cell, just a giant LED screen and a lot of lasers/lights
- although he did have steam and confetti, which I don’t think he had in Chicago - Rowdy teenage boys moshing at the drops
- Warmer than Congress Theater (but not as warm as Myth)
- Didn’t play:
- In for the Kill
- Scatta
- With You Friends (Long Drive)
- Hey Sexy Lady
