James Cassie - Dunnottar Castle, Kincardineshire (1857)

The only thing cooler than seeing photos of places I’ve been (aside from actually being there) is seeing paintings of places I’ve been from 150 years ago and noticing how little has changed in those 150 years.

I realized there’s two types of concerts I like to go to.

The kind that most of my friends like to go where you go to dance, jump around, yell, get sweaty, see an awesome light show with giant LED screens, strobes, lasers, and sometimes steam while a single person plays on his macbook and flips some switches on his mpc, leaving you barely be able to hear when you get home.

Then the kind that not as many of my friends like to go to, where everyone’s pretty chill most of the time, still dancing but not really getting sweaty, and nobody’s pushing or shoving or moshing into you and there isn’t the constant smell/haze of drugs because people are there to actually see the musicians performing their traditional non-electronic instruments such as drums, guitars, or saxophones and clarinets or hear a live a singer.

Bonobo last night was the perfect combination of both of those. I’m very sorry for all of my friends that wanted to go but couldn’t for one reason or another. I’ll make sure we all catch him next time he’s around for sure.

aaaaand Griz completely exceeded my expectations and has earned a spot near the top of my list of favorite artists to see live

I mean he played his saxophone while dj’ing, totally didn’t expect that

and his light show is the best I’ve seen this year (still not as good as PL though)
